Kaylee's 18 Month Update

Hi mommy friends!!!!
Kaylee Belle has gut her mid year mark of her (technically) her 2nd year of life but that sounds weird soooo lets just say she is half way through her 1's haha. My little monkey now weighs in at a 24.6 lbs! I have been told A LOT lately she is tall for her age which is quite funny because her dad nor I are tall! She still fits in her 12-18 month clothing but I am now starting to buy her 2T because she is quickly outgrowing everything! She wears size 4 diapers, which I find strange because she has been in that size FOREVER! I have noticed a decrease in appetite. Compared to last month where she was eating all the time she now is so finicky. I have not began to worry yet because this could be a stage which a lot of toddlers go through or remnants of the stomach bug that hit us all! I also discussed in build her social skills with other children. I have loved 2 her grow each week we go! She is still in a love affair with Mickey and Minnie Mouse!! Daddy actually just got us an annual pass to Disneyland an we r going March 8th for (her 3rd time and Justins 4th time) and I am REALLy excited to see her face freak out every time she sees a Mickey or minnie because she literally shrieks of excitement!!! Kaylee still can't get over dogs! Every time she see's one she just chases them barking at them its so cute!!!
I think that about it guys thanks for following us on this amazing journey into motherhood and being a SAH wife :) till next time!!!

Toddler Life: Tips on Feeding your Toddler

Hey Lovies!!!!
I am very excited about this blog post! I have been working on this for you guys for awhile! I have come up with a few tips on feeding your toddler!

1. Keep things COLORFUL!
When building your childs plate keep in mind colors. Adults as well as children eat with there eyes its one o our most powerful instincts as humans when we are learning to eat so play it up!

2. PORTIONS!
Toddlers have tiny stomachs so their portions should be tiny too. Always start with less if they want more GREAT! If not than u don't A. Waste food and B. you are not visually overwhelming them. If there stomach said "I am just a little hungry" and their eyes see a lot of food, 9 out of 10 times they will shut down and not eat anything

3. Keep offering time & time again!
Alright so did you know it takes 21 days of consecutive anything to form a habit? Food for thought when your child refuses to try something nee! Keep offering it until they try it and then again until they like it!! Be persistent !

4. Water ONLY!
am a firm believer in this rule and follow it with both of my kids as well as myself actually. Meal times are for eating your nutrients not drinking it. Especially with toddlers as they are in the introduction stage of eating they should not be having any liquid "sugars". This confuses the mind and the stomach an usually triggers the "I am full" state. This tip works especially well with those super picky eaters too!

5. Keep things in season!
Pretty basic....fruits and vegtables just taste better in season! Do your research when buying your produce. Most of the time you can just look at prices ! If something is outrageously priced your more than likely looking at a produce that is NOT in season.

6. VARIETY
When we become parents we all have an idea of what are kid friendly meals even gerber tells us what they are. But as a parent of 2 I have learned to offer my kids EVERYTHING we eat! This broadens there palette and creates less picky eaters! Also makes eating out fun because they are not stuck to ordering off the kids menu!

Thank you for reading! Below I have pictures of Kaylee's meals for the past week or 2 ( give or take). I hope it helps give you guys some Meal Ideas if you are stuck in a rut. These are not the most unique foods. It was just a plain old normal week. I will do these more often as I try new lunch and dinner ideas because I myself am in a rut! Ahhh the truths about Motherhood! :)

DIY Valentine's for the Kids

Hey lovies!!!
It's almost Valentines day!!!! Its one of my favorite holiday's decoration wise because I LOVE pink, red, and white anything and especially hearts!!!! My son has been crafting with me since he was little and this year we found this neat idea to change up his boring lil paper vday cards to take to school! This project is fun and easy for even toddlers! We let Kaylee go at it and it was pretty cute to see her try to paint a clothes pin hanger.

Supplies Needed:
- wooden clothespin hangers
- fuzzy pipe cleaner sticks (black)
- snack size bags
- acrylic paints (in a few festive colors)
- scissors
- small goggly eyes
- some type of glue. Hot glue gun works best but you may also use a more kids friendly glue such as tacky glue :(

Steps:

1. You need to cut your pipe cleaners. These will be your butterflies ears about 1 inch is good!
2. Now you need to paint and decorate your clothes pin hangers. Make sure to do one side at a time to insure each side is dry and to avoid smudges. ( to create polka dots I used a q-tips)

3. Once completely dry you now can glue your goggly eyes and antennas (fuzzy pipe cleaners) or whatever those things on top of butterflies are! Haha

4. Fill your plastic baggies half way with any candy of your choice! Make sure you can squeeze the middle with your finger so don't over fill. Squeeze the air out and close.
5. Last you will clip in your clothes pin down the center of the bag. Keep the top seal of the baggie straight and squish the excess baggie into the clip!

Super easy right!!! Hope you enjoyed this tutorial if you would like to see a video tutorial click on the video below!!!

Bye ladies talk to you soon!! XOXO
